First Steps Toward Frisbee Dog!

Well I’m proud to say, it’s started!

Some of you may know already that one of the reasons I chose a golden retriever for my dog is so that one day I can play frisbee with her. (Frisbee is in fact the best way you can play catch, or throw.)

Anyway, Mindy and I were playing quite a bit over the weekend with her flying squirrel frisbee like toy, and twice she was able to jump up and catch it out of the air. We’ll be playing frisbee in no time! It was pretty exciting I must admit. (The other thing I must admit is that I think it has more to do with how good the throw is, than how good the catcher is. I’m going to get lots of practice!)

Mindy Update:
She’s doing great! Was 52lbs last Monday! Can you believe that?
She got all her junk removed, and is now all healed up… I’ve been wanting to take her to the park and we haven’t been able to.

No new tricks or commands lately, we’ve been working hard on her recall (‘come’) and she’s pretty good with it. My next challenge is to really tackle ’stay’. She’s not 100% with it now…

She is definitely starting to look like a big dog!

Peak of the Destruction

The new windows went in a bit ago, one of which was the bathroom window (to take advantage of stucco,) which basically forced the remodel issue on the bathroom. That’s ok, it’s gotta happen anyway. But it has been one thing after another with this bathroom! First it was the 4(!) floor that were laid down in there. Once those were out, we realized the tub needed to be replaced… leading me to a completely gutted bathroom.

A couple days ago, I reached what I think was the peak of the carnage on my place. The electricians are here, upgrading my 1950s electrical panel, and adding about 10 circuits to my house. Having them here meant all the old cabinets had to be demod and what not.

Anyway, long story short… the house should start looking better over time now, instead of looking like I am just destroying it! Take a look!

It’s been busy!

Let me explain… no, there is no time, let me sum up!

Mindy is doing great. She got spayed a couple weeks ago and is basically back to normal, and all her stitches have been removed.

Vegas was a Grand success… we definitely did a great job celebrating my birthday, and sending Mike off to his blissful nuptuals, and eventual relocation to the jewel of the San Joaquin valley, yep, you guessed it Fresno.

House remodel is well underway… more on that in it’s own post.

Started a new dance in my last dance lesson… we are learning how to Foxtrot now.
