Well, this week’s episode was really awesome. Major plot advances, and of course lots of new questions. I think the disguises that Kate found, are particularly interesting. So, we’ve now discovered 3 hatches, one of which appears to be a medical center. (There are 7 Hanso Foundation studies, so this may mean there are 8+ hatches.)
Things I’ve learned:
- The producers were talking alot about how Zeke (a.k.a. Mr. Friendly, The Bearded Man) called out to Alex when the crew met them in the jungle chasing Michael. They did not come out and say it, but were clearly alluding to that Alex being Russo’s daughter.
- In “Maternity Leave” we met someone who we believe to be Russo’s daughter Alex.
- For a long time I have thought there were probably 2 groups of others, and was not convinced even upon Kate finding the disguises, however, withthe info about Alex, I’m convinced that we’ve only met one group of Others so far.
- Which also means it’s Dharma that is kidnapping the children.
What I’m not sure about is whether they are the Others that encounterd the Tailies (the survivors from the tail section, Ana Lucia, Ecko, etc.)
The Heiroglyphics:
- The producers confirmed that the symbols were Egyptian Heiroglyphics.
- They also said that in order to really understand that meaning, we would have had to see the remaining symbol that never popped into place.
- Also they mentioned it was probably a good thing that Locke input the code “in time” before the last counter reached it’s symbol… and essentially said that they would be annoyed if it did in fact do nothing (as Jack, and myself until now) feels like it does.
Other stuff I have learned:
- There are apparently influences from Myst (the computer game.) One of the things about Myst was that sometimes doing something on one side of the island, would affect puzzles on the other side of the island. Does pushing the button make something happen in another hatch? Is this why the video says not to communicate?
More to come!
