Mindy it Is!

I discovered tonight that Mindy means “Honey” with origins in Greek. That pretty much cinches it for me. What could be better for a honey colored, sweet Golden?

So, it’s settled… I’ll name my pup Mindy!

That’s Why They Call It Puppy Love

Today I went to meet my puppy for the first time, and to pick between “Lady” and “Minnie”. Before we went there, we called Cheri (the breeder) and had her remove their collar ribbons so that I would choose the puppy that I really bonded with, instead of what my Mom and Cheri thought.

They were both really sweet and cute. Lady crawled into my lap almost immediately and promptly went to sleep Minnie was very curious and spunky. Eventually my Mom picked up Lady so we could see if Minnie would settle down in my lap too, and sure enough, she promptly cuddled up and went to sleep. In the end, I decided that Minnie was a better fit. Cheri thinks she’ll take after her mom more than her dad… which is good, because Jewel (the mom) is much more athletic, and likes to play catch. (You should have seen how easily she would grab a tennis ball outta mid air… no waiting for the bounce or roll for her.)

So… it was very exciting morning and I can’t wait until I can take her home with me. My Mom claims that she already looks like me. ;)

Now it’s all about picking the name! At the moment, the names rolling around in my soup are:
Mindy, Genie, Sunshine (Sunny), and Maya… any suggestions?!
